AVON, OH — A fortunate Ohio Lottery player has claimed a $50,000 prize after playing the $2,000,000 Cashword scratch-off ticket purchased at Get Go #3015 on Just Imagine Drive in Avon.

Following mandatory state and federal tax withholdings of 28%, the winner will receive approximately $36,000.

The $2,000,000 Cashword is a $30 scratch-off game with a top prize of $80,000 a year for 25 years. As of August 8, four top prizes remain in the game.

    Fatal Tesla Crash Under Investigation in Hamilton Township

    HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Hamilton Township resulted in the death of the driver after a Tesla SUV veered off the road and caught fire. The incident occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m. on Mays Landing Somers Point Road near Ocean Heights Avenue.

    According to the Township of Hamilton Police Department, a 2024 Tesla Model Y left the roadway and collided with multiple trees before catching fire. Emergency responders, including the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics, and local fire departments from Mays Landing and Laureldale, were dispatched to the scene.

    The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identification of the victim is pending further investigation by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner's Office.

    No additional details have been released as the investigation is ongoing. The police department has not provided any information regarding the possible cause of the crash.

    Authorities have not disclosed whether there were any passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.

    Police Arrest One in New Castle Motel Robbery, Seek Three Additional Suspects

    NEW CASTLE, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this summer at a New Castle motel. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Dametris Graham, was taken into custody following a detailed investigation into the July 2 incident at the Red Roof Inn and Suites on North Dupont Highway.

    According to the Delaware State Police, Graham and a female accomplice, identified as 30-year-old Alexis Smith, entered the motel at approximately 3:18 a.m. on July 2 and demanded money from the front desk clerk. During the robbery, Graham reportedly jumped over the counter and threatened the clerk with a knife. The clerk complied, and the suspects fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

    Investigative efforts have since led detectives to identify two additional suspects involved in the robbery. Arrest warrants have been issued for 37-year-old Matthew Daniels of Philadelphia and 32-year-old Eric Flowers of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, along with Alexis Smith, who remains at large.

    Authorities are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Smith, Daniels, or Flowers to contact Delaware State Police. "We are actively seeking the public's assistance in locating these individuals," the department said in a statement.

    The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to apprehend the remaining suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to Delaware State Police or provide anonymous tips through Delaware Crime Stoppers.

    Toms River Man Arrested for Heroin Possession, DUI During Welfare Check

    WALL TWP — A Toms River man was arrested Friday during a welfare check on a suspicious vehicle near Lakewood Road and Cedar Street. The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Ryan P. Barber, now faces multiple charges, including possession of heroin, driving while intoxicated, and possession of an open container of alcohol in his motor vehicle.

    Patrolman Wayne Jackson of the Toms River Police Department conducted the welfare check on August 16, 2024, after noticing the suspicious vehicle. Upon investigation, Barber was found to be in possession of heroin and appeared to be under the influence. Additionally, an open container of alcohol was discovered inside the vehicle.

    Barber was arrested, processed, and subsequently released in accordance with John’s Law, which requires law enforcement to detain intoxicated drivers for a period of time or release them into the custody of a responsible party.

    The case remains under investigation as authorities review the circ*mstances leading to Barber’s arrest.
