Judge/ExecutiveKris Knochelmann was the guest speaker at the Oct. 25 Northern Kentucky Accountability Group (NKYAG) meeting.The NKYAG is a job search support group for professionals in career transition, sponsored by theKenton County Public Library. The group meets every Wednesday at the Erlanger branch, and admission is free for anyone with a library card.Judge Knochelmann shared stories and inspiration from his life as a small business owner and an elected official. Through these stories, he advocated for a life characterized by service, volunteering, building connections and personal & professional growth.𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬:1️⃣ Volunteering or serving on boards can be as impactful as formal education. The opportunities you get often stem from service and involvement in the community.2️⃣ Consider running for office regardless of your career stage. We need good, thoughtful people in elected positions, including city councils and school boards.3️⃣ Don't underestimate the long-term impact of a vision or idea you had as a child. Your early passions can lead to significant community benefits years later.4️⃣ Always seek to expand your knowledge. In new settings, prioritize finding areas where you can contribute value rather than focusing on what you don't know.5️⃣ When you focus on giving without expecting immediate returns, the benefits often come back multiplied.
